Totally Wicked Weekend!!

This weekend we went down to Ashford for a friends 40th birthday, and managed to fit in a trip to see Wicked while we were passing through London. It was amazing!
The train journeys were also fab, it still amazes me how quickly we can get from Manchester to London, and my daughter even managed to fit in some crafting on the way down.
It's also an exciting day today, I have a massive box of Stampin' Up! Goodies arriving from the new catalogue. Visit my other blog to see some projects made with the new goodies. Anyway, off to catch up with some housework while I wait for my parcel.

Peanut Butter Heaven

I saw a recipe for peanut butter bars here the other day, and being the complete peanut butter addict that I am, I had to give them a go.  They were GORGEOUS!! Total peanut butter heaven, and so easy to make!

The only problem was, my husband can't stand peanut butter, and my daughter isn't over keen, so I ended up eating the whole lot!!!!! Oh dear.

I am back.

For how long, who knows!!!

I have been posting over on my other blog www.cocktailofcard.blogspot.co.uk for the past few months, but I am using this blog for my stampin up business, and stampin up projects, and wanted somewhere that I could post a few other things as well. So, the plan is to get this one back up and running as well.

Please take the time to visit Cocktail of Card as well.

I WILL be back shortly with my first proper post!

Emma.

A big challenge!

As you may have noticed, I am failing miserably on the photo 365 challenge, so I have written a list of the 22 photos I need to get up to date, and am off to start snapping!! Hopefully I will be back soon to update with a very long post, or maybe several shorter ones!!!

Day 29 - Kitchen Utensil

WOW, I must make the most of this, I'm actually still up to date, and posting before the end of the day, I must be on a role!

I'm not 100% sure that this is strictly a kitchen utensil, as I think this is probably more of a gadget, but as I used this for the first time at my Mum's the other day, I thought I would take a piccie of it.  For those of you who don't know (which would have included me until recently), its a Ramoska.

Day 28 - Fluffy

Well, I've made it, day 28 actually posted on day 28!! I'm impressed even if you're not.

I didn't get side tracked by the quilting shop, as I never got there.  I got side tracked by the 25% off everything in per una signs at Marks and Spencers instead.  I didn't buy anything, but I'm probably going back tomorrow with my credit card!!  (hoping my husband hasn't found my blog yet!)

Anyway, I was just thinking I would have to give up on the photo challenge for today, when I went into my makeshift bedroom at my mums (the study), to find that my Mum had left some fluffy pink bedsocks on my pillow, coz I'd commented earlier, that my feet seemed to always be out of the end of the duvet.  Perfect!  And that explains the dodgy photo of my pink bedsocked feet!!

And just to console myself after the lack of quilting shopping, I have found a quilt shop that just happens to be on my home next week, so may have to pay it a visit!!

Day 26 - Free Choice, and Day 27 Amazing

There is a real danget that I might be up to date again!! I know it wont last for long, but I can enjoy it while it does!

Anyway here are my offerings:

Day 26

As I've already siad, I'm currently staying at my Mums, and they have an amazing amount of birds in their garden, and I love sitting in the lounge watching them.  We don't get many in our garden (mainly because I forget to put food out!!) so it is a joy to watch.

Day 27 - Amazing

My Mum has a collection of glass paperweights, and I am always amazed by the colours that swirl inside them, I think they are beautiful, and AMAZING

Right, off to find out what today's prompt is, and see if I can stay up to date a bit longer.  Although I'm trying to decide whether to pay a quick visit to the local quilting shop while I'm down at my Mum's, so may get destracted from photography!!

Day 24 - Motion & Day 25 Motionless

Yes, I'm behind.  There's  nothing new there!!  But I have actually got the last 4 days photos done, I've just decided to upload them slowly........... Well I've got to get my post total up some how!!!

Today is a day for celebration for several reasons, the main one being, that my Mum went for a follow up appointment today after having lip cancer removed, and got the good news that they have got it all, and she will not need any radiotherapy etc!!!  Praise the Lord.

The second (very small celebration in comparisson!!) I am at post number 6 for the year, which is half way to my next target!!!!

Anyway, here is my photo for Day 24 - Motion (Well actually it's 2 photos!)

And here is my one for motionless, kind of prompted by the motion one.....Can you tell?

My Mum would be horrified if she knew there were photos of her sink on the internet.  Good job she hasn't got a clue how to use the computer then!!

Hope you have a good day.

Fluffy Scarf

My Mum had a minor operation on her mouth just over a week ago, which has resulted in her having her jaw wired for 6 weeks, so I have been spending some time with her to help her out, and look after Dad, which means I've had some free time on my hands.  Although most of my craft stuff is at home, I did bring my knitting bag with me, so I managed to finish a scarf that my daughter had asked me to make a few months ago.  Not very exciting I know, but she loved it!!! And she got it before winter had finished, which is quite an achievement for me!!!  Here are a couple of photos of her modeling it.

Days 22 and 23

Well, I think I've got the next set of photos from the the camera to the laptop, so just to see if I can get them all the way to the blog without spouse help.

And yes, I've suceeded.  This was day 22, and the prompt was GLOWING.  I know my photos aren't very inspiring at the moment, but at least I'm doing them, and posting them.  I'll try and work on the inspirational bit as I go along, but no promises!

Any way, day 23, which will bring me up to date.

The prompt was HOT

And all done without the aid of my husband, I feel as though I have acheived something!! Now to try and post a link back to the orignal blog that the prompts come from!!!

20 and 21

Well, this is where I try to get 2 of my photos onto a blog post.  I have now taken 4 in total, but have only got 2 of them onto the laptop so far (and even then needed the help of the husband....hangs head in shame!)  So I decided to make sure I could get them actually onto the blog and then would try to get the next 2 all the way from the camera to the blog all on my onesome!!

It actually looks like it might have worked!! This is the picture for Day 20.  The prompt was signs, and as stated below, I decided to signs of life.

And so far so good! This is my photo for day21, the prompt was fire.

Off to attack the camera now to see if I am now capable of doing the whole process myself!

Saturday 21 January 2012

Day 20 Photo

Well this isn't a very promising start to the challenge, as I don't actually have a photo on the blog entry, and its a few hours late as well, but at least there is an entry!!
Day 20s prompt was SIGNS.  I took a photo of an amarylis bulb shooting to show signs of life, but am at my parents at the moment, and can't find the right lead to connect the camera to my laptop, so will hopefully post the actual photo later today when I get home.

Off to find out what todays prompt is!!

2012

Well here it goes, having not really taken to the blogging thing first time round, I am trying again.  My new years resolution is to blog more than I did in 2011...............Yipee! Cracked that one already, as I didn't post anything at all in 2011, this post officially means I have suceeded, even if it did take me until 19th Jan to do it!! (poor I know, but still sucess in my book!)

Suppose now I need to set a new target?  Better keep it simple, I like baby steps!!!  I think "make 12 posts during 2012" is good enough for now, don't you?

I have done a couple of things to try and help me keep on track with it all:

1) I've joined a team on UKscrappers, which will hopefully means that I will have more scrapbook layouts which I can post on her and comment on.
2) I am going to try and do the 365+1 photo challenge, also on UKscrappers, which involves taking a photo each day based on a prompt given.  I know I'm a bit late starting, and even now haven't worked out properly how to upload photos from all of my cameras, so it may be some time coming!
3) I have done one of those pay it forward type thingys on facebook where you promise to make something handmade for the first 5 people who comment on your status.  So hopefully this will give me some more things that I can share on here.

Well, here goes then, lets see how long it lasts this time!!! If you've got any more suggestions on how to keep myself blogging, then let me know, all help gratefully received!
